The Centre for Men’s Health’s Dr Anand Patel joined comedians Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse in BBC2’s Christmas 2025 special of the series Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing. In his ‘bankside consultation’, Dr Anand talked about diet, including the importance of eating enough protein in maintaining muscle mass and avoiding frailty as men age. He also talked about grip strength as an important measure of long-term health.
The programme, which first aired on 24 December, is available on BBC iPlayer (requires login).
Decreased muscle strength may also be one of the symptoms associated with testosterone deficiency syndrome/Low T. If you are concerned about this it may be worth taking the free online self-test for Low T.
If you’d like to book an appointment with Dr Patel or any of the other doctors at the Centre for Men’s Health, then we’d be happy to help.
